How They Wear Their Hair Over There

The women of Namibia's Himba tribe slather their hair with a mixture of butter and ocher (a type of iron ore) and divide hair into several plats. Dry hair is a turn off to Himba men, so women of the tribe apply the concoction liberally.

In Kenya, the women of the Masai tribe wear their hair short or completely shaved and adorn their heads with beads. The practice of wearing their hair short allows women to stand out from the males of the tribe who actually wear their hair long.

The Miao women of China wear there hair in a style that's been nicknamed "Long Horns". To get the look they place U-shaped pieces of wood on top of their heads and wrap their hair around them, securing the hair with a white cord.
