Skin on the Airplane

Dry skin is a problem not just in the winter with its cold temperatures, and howling winds, but dry skin can come from using harsh cleansers, having too hot a bath or even getting on an airplane.

The two musts:

A moisturizer is essential - A moisturizer performs several important functions. It replaces lost water and water-binding ingredients (such as glycerin) help keep it in the skin. Find products that cleanse and moisturize, saving you one extra step.

Licking them won't bring relief - it will only make them more dry and chapped. To keep your lips soft and smooth, apply a moisturizing lip salve, especially before bed.

Beauty 101: Hydration Treatments for the Cold Winter

Hydration is a key component of any health and beauty regimen, but when you’re busy at this time of year, it’s all too easy to forget about drinking the recommended eight glasses of water of day.

Dry, scaly and/or itchy skin seems to be synonymous with winter. Low humidity can be a major culprit, but it is possible that low levels of vitamins A, C and B complex are to blame.
Take lot's of fluids, water, tea, and orange juice, stick it to your routine.

One of the most comforting things to do when you have a chill is to take a hot bath or shower. While warm water is comforting and good for the skin, water that is too hot will strip your skin of its moisture and leave your skin feeling dry. Also, be careful of how much you exfoliate, sometimes we mistake dry skin for dead skin and when your skin is already dry you don’t want to strip it raw. Exfoliating once a week should suffice. Excessive heat in your house or car will also dry your skin out, so lower that heat a few notches and put on an extra sweater.

Beauty Tips: Instant Recovery for Chapped Lips!

Do you have dry and chapped lips? Wanna have the sexiest lips this spring? Here is some great advice:

  • Use a regular toothbrush to gently exfoliate dead, dry skin off your lips. Place toothbrush on lips and gently massage in a circular motion.

  • Pat dry and then apply lip balm.

  • Avoid licking your lips. Saliva evaporates quickly and digests the thin membrane protecting lips, leaving lips drier than before you licked them.

  • Smoking will constantly evaporate any natural oils on the lips.

  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Dehydration typically results in chapped lips.

Defined Cheekbones?

The steps to getting well defined cheekbones are very simple. Imagine if you will that there is an imaginary line from the bottom corner of your nose to the area where your ear is attached at the top of the ear. This line defines the top of the area where your blush will be applied.

To find the bottom line simply imagine a line from the bottom corner of your mouth to the bottom attachment of your ear.Use the handle of your contour brush to get an idea where these lines are.

Next you will need to locate the starting point. If you can imagine a vertical line from the iris of your eye to where it intersects the lower line, this is the point where you will want to start applying your blush going up towards the ear. This starting point is also the area of your face where your cheeks start to round back towards the side of your head. Use those imaginary lines to guide you where you need to apply your blush, and make sure you blend upwards to give yourself well defined cheekbones.

Healthy Glow on Your Face!

Here are some tips and pointers on how to get the natural healthy glow on your lovely face.

For a healthy and glowing skin, you need to cut down on spices and oily/fried food.

Eating fresh fruit and vegetables

It is a great idea as they are good sources of antioxidants.

Start your day with an ancient Ayurvedic ritual: drink a hot glass of water with lemon juice to assist your body in removing toxins.

Nourish your skin from the inside. Eat right, take proper vitamin and mineral supplementation, exercise regularly, and sleep right. It's winter for heaven's sake—nature hibernates. Crawl into bed an hour early with a hot beverage and a good read.

Drink plenty of water to hydrate your skin and offset the lack of humidity. Alcohol, coffee and tea dehydrate the body, so while your liquid intake may be higher in the winter, make a special effort to include hydrating beverages. If you really don't like the taste of water, add lemon or lime juice, or eat more foods with a high water content.

Two Wrinkles Care Tips for Everyday

http://images01.tzimg.com/cache/h3w4/500_1198778086_anti-aging_ca.jpg

1. Moisturise first: Applying moisturiser after cleansing but before you reach for your foundation ensures the make-up has a soft, smooth surface to bind to.
2. Don't forget your neck: Few make up mistakes look as bad as the the two tone face and neck caused by stopping your make up at your chin. So always apply a little foundation under the chin and down the upper neck, blending it away as you go down.
