Gucci Hair and Beauty

We seem to be spotting a beauty trend starting at New York Fashion Week and carried right on through Fashion Week in Milan. Many designers this season are going for simple, sleek, pulled back hair. We saw this again at Gucci. With the exception of the feather accentuated ponytail, the look was the same. In Gucci's case this may have had something to do needing a hairstyle that worked with all the hats that went down the runway. Nevertheless, we're guessing that pulled back hair will be the next CHIC beauty trend.

Fun Workout Hairstyles

Tired of wearing the same old ponytail when you work out? We know that looking cute perhaps isn't the most important thing when exercising, but it doesn't hurt to switch it up every now and then. If your hair is stuck in a work out rut try one of these hairstyles!

1) French Braids: Part hair down the middle and separate each side. Start braiding at the top of the head and work down, incorporating small sections of hair with each braid to create a french braid effect. Secure ends.

2) Wear a headband: Simple elastic headbands can be purchased at your local drugstore and look super cute. They're also functional, as they keep hair off of the face. They're especially great if you have bangs.

There you have it! Two easy, cute, and functional styles for your workout!

SAG Awards Trend Alert

We noticed a surprising trend at last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards: soft, loose, flowing waves. We love this easy, pretty look which is such a contrast from past more fashion forward styles. To achieve this look wrap sections of hair around a large barrel curling iron. Once each section is curled use a bobby pin to set curl in place while hair cools. Once all hair is curled remove bobby pins and finish with a bit of hairspray. Super simple, and you'll be all set to look like a red carpet star!

Armani the face was bare with a dark purple lip, while the makeup at Dior was bright and colorful. Perfect for spring!

How They Wear Their Hair Over There

The women of Namibia's Himba tribe slather their hair with a mixture of butter and ocher (a type of iron ore) and divide hair into several plats. Dry hair is a turn off to Himba men, so women of the tribe apply the concoction liberally.

In Kenya, the women of the Masai tribe wear their hair short or completely shaved and adorn their heads with beads. The practice of wearing their hair short allows women to stand out from the males of the tribe who actually wear their hair long.

The Miao women of China wear there hair in a style that's been nicknamed "Long Horns". To get the look they place U-shaped pieces of wood on top of their heads and wrap their hair around them, securing the hair with a white cord.
