DIY Eyebrows

We all know that an arched eyebrow can change the look of your entire face, but many of us can't afford to go to the salon once a week to keep the look up. If you're looking to save a little cash, try arching your eyebrows yourself with these tips:

1) Make sure to have a guide. Find a picture of one of your favorite celebs are take a photo of a friend who has an arch that you like.

2) Outline the arch before plucking or razering. Use an eyebrow pencil to draw the shape that you want your eyebrows to be. This helps to avoid mistakes.

3) In this case, less is definitely more! We advise going for a thicker brow initially and then removing a bit more if needed. If you overshoot and remove too much hair you'll end up with a very thin eyebrow.

4) Be sure to take breaks and check out your work in the mirror. This way if you've made a mistake you can catch and fix it as soon as possible.

5) If you're tweezing, take two asprin about 30 minutes prior to lessen the pain.

6) Be sure to take care of your skin and moisturize the plucked area as soon as you've finished.

And voila! Gorgeously arched eyebrows in the comfort of your own home!

How To: Choose the Right Mascara

We all know that mascara is a great way to play up your eyes, but how do you know which mascara is right for you? Here are our tips:

  • For daytime use, make sure to wear a mascara that compliments your hair color and skin tone. Many of us are tempted to wear black mascara but it can come of looking harsh on people with fairer colored hair. If you're not brunette, save this color for nights out and instead go for a shade of brown.

  • Your mascara brush is just as important as your mascara. Different brushes create different looks. Do you have long lashes that you want plumped up or do you have shorter lashes and want to add length? Most mascaras will describe on their packaging what the brush is intended to do. Make sure to take note of this and purchase a mascara with a brush that works for you.

  • Another trick: if you have a certain mascara that you like and a certain brush that you like, combine the two! There are no rules in beauty. This trick can work great if you're having trouble finding a mascara and brush from one brand that you prefer.

How To: Wear Bangs

Thinking about a new look for the winter? Bangs are an easy way to spice up your look without making a huge commitment. And, we've got some great tips on how to style this look so that you're perfectly on trend!

  • Flat iron your bangs: In order to wear this look, it's essential that your bangs are evenly and bluntly cut or it will look strange. Flat iron bangs, apply a dry shampoo to dull the shine infused in your hair from the flat iron and then apply a small amount of matte paste to hair to keep it in place.

  • Get a fringed natural look: Run a pomade through the ends of towel dried hair. Blow-dry hair with a round barrel brush giving bangs a slight curl under.

  • Modern, edgy bang: Wash hair. Apply large roller to bangs and sit under a dryer. When hair is almost dry, remove roller and blow dry hair at a low heat setting.
